Felicitas Fischer

dancer | choreographer | educator

Driven by a deep curiosity for movement in all forms, Felicitas is a contemporary dance artist working, teaching, and creating in the Bay Area. Her artistic approach incorporates diverse dance practices from around the world and reflects her own polyethnic-cultural experience through the means of storytelling + reclamation + resistance. She recognizes our bodies and kinesthetic presence as fundamentally political statements with the power to transmit unspoken truths, self-evident through our unique authentic expression and movement.

Stance on Dance

Contributing Writer
2013 - Present

For the past 8 years, I have been responding to the open-ended prompt: Where are you with dance?
Led by Stance on Dance lead editor Emmaly Wiederholt, this project serves as a time-capsule and meditative map that charts how young dancers, and their relationships to dance, evolve over time. Starting in early high school through post-college, this is an ongoing documentation of how I experience movement, myself, and the ever-shifting world of dance.
